    BMW State Trooper

    Yesterday I saw something in Columbia that you don't see everyday. I saw a BMW 5 series state trooper patrol car! It looked just like a M5 from a distance and for all I know it could have been an M5. This is the only time I have seen a BMW police car anywhere. I would guess that since BMW has a plant in Greenville, they could have donated this car to the state??? Anyway, I thought I would see if any of you have ever seen a BMW police car. In any case, I am sure that this is a fairly rare sight to be seen.

    it is an M5.. it travels all of SC.. i lived there for 3 years in greenville.. there was alot of talk about it when it came out.. SO DON"T TRY AND OUTRUN IT!!! haha.. but yeah it is an M5... its sick.. stay away from it.. finally the government is realizing that they better get some real automobiles.. the german rides..

          Yes, believe it or not... about three years ago at Global Imports BMW in Atlanta, I saw a Georgia State Patrol Car parked in the parking lot. It was an E36 M3 and had complete light set and GA State Patrol paint job. I never got any more information on it nor have i seen it since then but I've always kept my eye out for it.

          Not as cool as an M5 though...

            what the heck is that an M3!!!!! man imagine tryin to outrun the cops only to be astonished when you find out that the cop can hang w/ you that would ****!

              In the UK, the Police use quite alot of BMW's mainly 5 series and I know of a 1986 e30 used in undercover ops. The Germans use the M3 on their autobahns and the BMW etk even has decals and parts kits for the police forces to buy.

                When I was out side Breben Germany I saw a few e34 5 series and an e36 M3 on the autobahn.
