Hi guys. I have a 95 M3 and located next to your driver side fog light is an air intake. I believe this is an air scoop that routes over to cool the brakes..Right?.. Well, inside of the scoop is a black box with 2 wires pluged into this thing.. What the heck is it?!?! :???:

It is an air temp sensor that the computer uses. It is not the one that tells you the outside temp, I belive that would be on the other duct if you had the option.Comment

Actually I belive that is the external air temp sensor. I replaced the fog lamp in my 95 325 and disconnected it (on the drivers side) to finish the job. When I got everything done the external temperature read negative 50 degrees for about 15 minutes before correcting itself.
I havn't taken my M3 apart under there, but when I was working on the headlamp I remember seeing the same sensor in the same location.Comment
