    Rim Job!

i just wanted to see what everyone thought of these rims or had any insight on their quality.. they are the Mille Miglia MM11-2 Sports.. i would get 18x8f, 18x9r.. i know they are cheap but im workin on a budget to get this thing movin again.. plus on the techno-violet.. it really looks sharp (my opinion).. but let me know what ya think.. and also i would be replacing all of the Miglia badges with ///M badges and the centercap with a BMW logo (i think it would just look better).. let me know.. thanks in advance gents..

how would they handle the track though?? do you think they would be flimsy.. or am i just dreaming up stupid $hit as usual... first timer here.. first time i would ever have bought rims.. where could i get these in a package though.. tire rack didn't have tires to fit the wheels (kind of odd if you ask me).. i wanna try and keep it under 2 g's and this is about as close as i can get it... i think (for new at least)

i know.. i worry too much.. haha.. ahh well.. i think thats gonna be it.. i just can't find anything else that looks the way i want with the cost being fairly low.. any idea how much they weigh?? ive been lookin around and i found a 12 spoke from MM that weighed 9.5 kilos (i do'nt know what the conversion is) but its sounds lite.. they say its lite.. i just wanna make sure i do the right thing.. as usual.. but this definitly seems like the right thing..

its definatly the right thing to do, i worry alot also but if i were in your place i think id do the same. the wheels will look bad a$$ and will probally do well at the track. as far as weight, you can probally call up tire rack or some place else and ask, i was on a site where they compared weight i just cant remember...if i find it ill let ya know.

                  good luck!!!

You're right, those are nice and they look even better with your purple color.

Since we are talking about rims...what about these, I'm thinkin of gettin these...SSR GT3...911 turbo rims?

Those two wheels are my absolute favorites. I think the SSR are a little too flashy though. I would probably get the Mille Miglia if anything.

the rims are sweet. Paint the brakes. I saw somewhere they make a kit. I used heat paint on mine. Just a semi gloss black. covered up the grey dingey look they had from age. I'll post a pick. After the weekend.

brakes will definitly be painted (not right away because of time constraints) and im lookin at either silver or black.. maybe even stenzle (sp) an M3 logo on it or something for shitz and giggles.. my buddy did that to his stock ones.. except he put them on a supra and put TRD on them.. looks exactly like the TRD brakes.. except the size of course.. hehe

Soooo many wheels to choose from... so little money to buy them with.

In my opinion, If you're on a budget, the BBS RK rims are a great choice being both light and strong... I want to say 17 pounds a wheel (17"). They're being discontinued so they're on sale. BBS also has some other styles that are just as good. For a little more money I would get the SSR competition wheels. They are stronger and lighter than the BBS wheels and they aren't that much more expensive. I personally like the way they look also (variety of finishes).

If you're interested in painting the calipers, the darker the color the better the caliper is able to dissipate heat, real reflective and bright colors retain heat in the brakes a little more...

Good luck with putting the pieces back together and be sure to keep us up to date with your progress.
