do you live in the US? your numbers seem kind of off..... I thought 95 OBD I 3.0l and 96-99 OBD II 3.2l M3's all had 240 HP.. at least thats what they were rated from factory... where'd you get that the 99 M3's w/ the 3.2 had 270? I've seen many 99 M3's go from $25K up... could be different in your area.. but this is the So Cal Market that I've seen...

yea i have a 99 m3 and im positve its still only 240 hp , although that doesnt sound like alot , with the dyno charts ive seen of 3.2l m3s BMW could have rated it around 250-270 and got away with it if they wanted to , but thats wouldnt be BMWs style now would it

vanos refers to BMW's variable valve timing system

and as far as i know, all US OBDII m3s had s52b32 engines so it seems a little off someone would post different numbers for a later year . . . they didnt change any design, hence the unlikeliness of any increased performance . . . but thats just what i know, feel free to enlighten me if i be wrong

no wonder my 99 M3 is much quicker than my 98 M3 Sedan. I though the 4 door were slower.

When my car were stock just a drop in k&n filter I race this 02 mustang with i think 265h GT. I spank that pony over and over. i was suprise he couldn't keep up with me and another time i was half a car infront of this red camero ss, after about 120mph i pull away from him fast. to be fair i gave them both more than one chance to beat me, this was on a a free way btw.

i think the reason ur 99 is faster then ur sedan has to do with two very major things . . .

one, the sedan body is heavier

two, ur 99 m3 has something that starts with a 't' and ends with an 'o' and in the middle is 'urb'

My M3 was STOCK with just a K&N drop in filter at the time and maybe sharked too, not to sure . I recently got the turbo about 8 month ago. and i thought the 2 and 4 door weight the same, according to the manual.

And why don't bmw call the VANOS V.V.T

VANOS is a complicated acronym . . . and i think someone already had the rights to VVT (maybe toyota . . . not sure) when VANOS came out

btw . . . what was the difference in speed between the sedan and coupe? was it THAT noticeable or were the cars still very close together . . . btw, are they both of the same tranny?

                        i think all 3.2L come with a 3.23.

that right, toyata and lexus use VVT. my brother have a 02 celica gts, 6spd. and no matter how much he modify it I can hear that rice rocket blocks way but it seen to be moving in slow motion. hehehe
