does anyone know if there is a racing steering wheel to fit a 98 M3 that incorporates the airbag-stock wheel is fine for the track, but a bit smaller with Alcantra wrapping would be way cool

If you want an airbag, you don't have many options. I have an ACS rewrapped euro wheel, but that's the same diameter as the stock 4-spoke wheel. Raid is a possible manufacturer. You can pick them up at KHYmotorsport.com
