but these guys have leather care and refinishing goodies:

they also have a product to fix cracks in leather (like spackle for leather)

Have you heard anything about these people. Just from reading their websites and product descriptions, Leatherique give me a better impression. They are also more expensive though.

You can have the leather re-dyed, but don't expect it to work wonders with the loss of texture on your leather and the natural cracks. Secondly the re-dyes don't usually last very long because they are a surface dye at most. I used Leather Masters DIY products to re-dye my seats they match your seats using a color swatch you send them. Their products worked well and certainly made the coloring of my light colored modena seats more even. I would recommend their sunsafe kit to anyone who's leather has been moderately maintaned. Their web sit is stainsafe.com. Unfortuantely, I am now in the process of having all the seats recovered because my seats were poorly maintained and no product will make them acceptable to me. Anyone know of a good upholsterer in Denver Colorado.

I had my dove grey vaders redone... Looks as good as new, just like the back seats [which have only been sat in once or twice]

The M is not a taxi, so I dont use the backseat

Go for the redye - If it's done profesionally, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

There will be sections that will need new leather - most commonly the side support on the seat and back

You can't redye worn leather and expect good results, so use new leather on certain sections then redye the whol seat [new and old leather]

Works out cheaper than buying the whole leather skin from the dealers.

...forgot to add... the seats were done a year ago

in case some were wondering how long it lasts

              just keep it conditioned

I recall reading somewhere about a buffalo hide dash that BMW made but not for 2nd gen m3s.

well, it cost me 1500 Rands [SouthAfrican currency]

that was to do both front seats - new leather along the sides [base and back] and redyeing the complete seat

at todays rate exchange rate, that equates to +- $220

Thanks to M/Miller for refreshing this thread and reminding me to keep lexoling my dove!

Also, anyone interested in redying check Desmo Bob's recent thread on it. He's redying his original grey grey/anthracite, if I remember it looks really good.
