    DDE's...help please!

    :help: :help: :help:

I'm going to get DDE's from umnitza, but I want an opinion on which ones to get. I see that Matt has a few of them available with a wide price range.

What has anyone installed and do you like them? I see on the comparison page at umnitza the diffs between the 3 types and I guess I'm a little nervous about spending so much money on light that are Fragile and have a Non-OEM look (taken from the web page). Or maybe I'm just not understanding.

I just know that I really want them and we are ordering them by tomorrow so responses would be appreciated!!

    Thanks,

    Alli

i have the "cheapy" ones, the DDE Lightning. they are much simmiliar to a flourescent light. the advantages of these are that they are a whole lot brighter than dde gen 5, and dont cost as much, and are easier to install. in these there are 3 models, the entry, middle and top level. the middle is what i have and the "upper" or Enhanced are awesome, they look more oem and have a dimmer adjustment

the other dde is the dde gen 5. i didnt like these because they are not super bright. they have what are called light-boxes under the hood. however, they look just like the ones on the 5 series.

    hope that helps you

purple - these do not have light boxes. i did not want the light boxes, just something i did not like. with these, everything is conceled inside the zkw headlight

a.vixen - i got these from umnitza. they are DDE Lightning Plus. but i like the look of the DDE Lightning Enhanced a little better.

          Here are some links

          www.umnitza.com

and if you have any questions, matt is really easy to get ahold of and is quick with the replies.

i have ZKW ellipsoid with gen 4 angel eyes. Looks really nice and i got them from um nitza. i think the total came close to $600 for the ellipsoids with angel eyes. There also another place www.lavalighting.com. i would stick with them or um nitza.

Okay, I'm all confused again. The links you sent me are all a lot cheaper than the products I'd been looking at. Are these full kits? I'm pretty sure I need a kit since I have a US car, therefore not the right lights.

I want to get these ordered TODAY!!! So, since I need the kit, should I be looking at :

                http://www.umnitza.com/product_info.php?cPath=68&products_id=146 tawain brand

                or:

                http://www.umnitza.com/product_info.php?cPath=68&products_id=123 german brand

I really just want to make the right purchase and of course not spend more money than I need to.

Also, I'm looking for a rear spoiler. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks again all of you for all your help!

How about these: Has anyone heard or used them? I went to Lavalight.com and found this link. Seems like a lot cheaper, but dif than the dde's. Just looking for opinions and info!

alright....dont get lava lighting products. the rings arent perfectly round, and they tend to have problems. and cost more

i spent close to a grand on headlights, i have the ZKW Elipsoids (german oem bmw part), 4500K HID and the DDE Lightning Plus.

a.vixen - here is a direct link to what you need. it is everything, pre-installed and ready to plug in and go.

this is everything ready to go. all you have to is plug it in and drive. it is a ZKW Elipsoid, with DDE Lightning Plus Installed and plug and play connectors. but unlike mine, no HID

How would you go about getting HID in there? And is the Lightning the lower, middle, or upper grade?

                          Thanks M!!

I believed that what you sent me is what I needed. I'm ordering them tomorrow, and Matt said they are due in the 11th of January.

                          What is HID?

HID is High Intensity Discharge or they are also known as Xenon.

they are the the bluish tint lights you see on all the new bmws.

they are much brighter than Halogen lights that are stock. and with the ZKW Projectors, it is amazing how far ahead you can see.
