What Mod Should I Do Next?

Alright guys, I need some help figuring out what to do next to my M. You can see from my sig what I have so far. Ultimately I want a supercharger but I don't have the $$ for that right now. I don't think I will ever go for a turbo for reasons like $$$ and wear/tear on the engine internals, etc.



So ... what do you think? I have been thinking about these things in no particular order:



1. 3 Gauge VDO Kit

2. Fan Delete Mod w/ Pulleys

3. Reprogamming (SHARK)

4. UUC Stage II Flywheel and M5 Clutch

5. X-Brace

6. Blacked Out Grills

well, i think the gauge kit to be useless unless you are tracking the car alot and you need to see oil pressure or oil temp.



I would say if i were in your shoes i would go with everything but the gauges, and the xbrace. I say that because i couldnt tell a difference when i added an xbrace to my car.

im not sure about the guages.. really not a HUGE deal when it comes to the performance but damn it looks sweet.. its on my list no ?.. i would do the Xbrace though.. it helps tie the front end together.. really should have been there in the first place.. ur not going to notice a huge difference though until u really track it and give it all its got.. but the fan delete is next on my list.. and i can't wait till the time when it goes on..

i desperatly need to put my wheels on, put my clears in and then i will be able to put up a picture. As it is my car is 410 miles away back at home. I hope i can do all this soon.

I would go UUC flywheel and M5 clutch.

well when it comes to that i would ? how many miles he has and if he has replaced it yet.. if he has just replaced it then i would put that off for awhile.. otherwise that would be another good mod.. not cheap though.. but the thing is there are so many other little things to do..

I have 51,000 miles on my car. So the clutch has not been replaced yet but I will do this for sure when it needs to be replaced. The question is should I do it before the clutch has to be replaced?



I would consider reprogramming next but if I get a supercharger someday I will have to do that again.



What do you think Purple? Will I be able to feel a difference if I reprogam now?

maybe alittle.. ur best bet is to finish up the suspension.. X brace.. Sways.. and then the pulleys.. M50 manifold.. if u are going to do an AA SC.. then maybe just go with there chip for the time being.. i would recommend finishing the suspension though.. thats the most fun part of the car.. i like to feel the car when going into a turn.. G's baby.. all G's..



with 51k.. uve probably got another 10k depending on how u drive the car.. then by that time ull be ready for a new clutch.. therefore u could go for the stage II fly then..

What sway bars did you decide on?

i think im going to get the UUC because i don't want the car to be TOO stiff since its a street car and it seems that it has the smallest front sway bar of the pack.. and then it stiffens up the rear pretty good.. there quality is great too.. i figured it would serve the purpose well..

Hey AMPowerJ i was wondering if you have a close up picture of your painted calipers. I have an alpine white M3 with BBS RC and i am thinking of doing this but i haven't seen any other silver painted calipers. If you have any that would be great!

X-Brace is $110 on Ebay...sways are a waste from what I have been told?!?



Then new programming...



Aside form the obvious performance upgrades...



My motto is to replace things as they need to be fixed...if you need new shocks go to coilovers, New brakes...consider a big brake kit, muffler...UUC Twin, etc.:thumbsup:
