Well Ive definitly settled on a 95. However my goal of a low mileage, dakar yellow seems to be a little restrictive. Im curious what your guys thought are on a higher mileage M. (100k+) Im sure they are dependable cars but Ive had my sights on a lower mileage M that I didnt think about the higer ones. 9 years have giving these cars plenty of time to aquire some miles so Im thinking I should increase my range of search. I plan on doing some light mods at least at first to the car, so I want something that will be there long enough to be a project. Would you say an M with 122,000 owned my an enthusiast and at the right price would be a good idea or no? Any advice and experiences would be great. Thanks in advance.

its all about how well it was taken care of.. if it was taken care of properly then ur lookin at a car that can go 300+k.. so mileage is no concern.. but i would do compression tests etc to ensure the compression is still good.. cause obviously some could have run it hard and no said anything.. or not been doing the scheduled maintainance and not said anything..

got my 1996 estoril with 124k miles for $13k. Runs great and looks great considering it hasn't seen snow until a month ago (it used to be a florida car).
i have spent a good deal on maintaince, but then again i am obsessed. As soon as i find something wrong i try to fix it. These cars require a bit of TLC but if you can do it yourself it will be alot cheaper then taking it to a shop everytime!

`Dude i have about 205,000 on my M3 and have been doing all the maintance myself since 80,00 miles, Inspection are easy mostly wear iteams you should change anyways, and fluid checks and changes. I drive my car pretty good and it has alwasy been rite on for me, i have modded a few things and i got those doen at a Porshe Dealer since there labor was only 80 and hour instead of 120 (In DC metro area) with CCA discount.. Bottem line if youtake care of your car it will last.. I have a325 with 260,00 miles on it also and a Euro M5 with 82,000 miles these cars last , My first was a 82 320I with 220,00 when i bought it i put about 45,00 on it in three years and sold it fro 3 times what i paid for it. very very good when you go BMW....
