Looking for somes answers from you guys wiyh more knowledge on 99 M3's

I purchased my baby last November. I have only driven the car 460 miles, I travel a lot that's why the low miles

What product do you guys recommend for do it you self waxing?

I know this question migth sound stupid, what does E36 mean?

I read that there is a way of finding out where in germany your car was built and what # on the production line it is. I think it can be done with the VIN #? Any websites?

The one thing I will like to changed is the black door bumpers to make it match the Titanium Silver. Any suggestions on where to get started?

The car is stocked, other than HR suspension nothing else has been done to it.

The car has 41567 miles, Titanium Silver with Grey interior. I took it to get a pre-buy inspection and the machanic told me for the price it's a steal. so I promptly jump on it

I will appreciate your feed back. Thanks.

    Drifter, Thanks for your Response.

Welcome, Fly. You'll find a lot of info on this board, and some friendly fellow owners. FYI it's a good idea to use the search function before posting questions. It's a way to show respect for everyone's time on the Board.

Here's the mother lode site for info on the M3 --

    http://www.bmwmregistry.com/faq.php

E36 refers to the body style of 3 series BMW's from 91 -- 98 (99 for the M3). The new M3 is E46, the new style.

I've used Maguires polish and wax on my cars, like the results.

Running a Carfax report will give you the city, don't know anything about production line number. I can tell you pretty certainly the city was Munich -- think that's where all the US spec 99 M3's were assembled. If I'm wrong someone will post.

Do a search with quote marks around the subject for your bumper question.

    Best of luck.

As far as painting the black trim to match your body color I checked into this awhile back. All of the trim pieces were going to need to be sanded, primed and painted. A local body shop quoted me over $500 to do this so I decided to back off this idea. I know others on this board have done this for less money by doing some of the work themselves.

      Welcome!
