i dont know why im even debating this. i mean you guys obviously know everything about these cars cause you read all the magazines...i only OWN BOTH CARS! lol geez. i think i know what both are capable of. Dont get me wrong. I have a total bias towards the M3 and i if i came down to selling one car, the S2000 would be gone without even thinking about selling the M. Im just saying, i know firsthand what the S2000 is capable of. Especially by comparison to the M3.

I never even said the S2000 was faster than the M3. All i ever said was that there is not a 4 car difference between the two like that.

OT: ...but...how the heck do you afford both a S2000 and a e36 M3 at 18 years old? insurance must kill you... i want to know some financial advice from you haha... im 20 and a M3 is ALL i can afford... took some time to get it too... congrats if you worked hard though..thats the way!

sub 14 is possible in stock s2000 but one would have to replace the clutch after 5 runs

S2000 is my father's. but he rarely drove it till recently cause he sold his 540i.

yeah one of my buddies was telling me about a Big BMW meet in the mid-Penn area in June. Maybe we could meet up and chill there or something.

ALSO- Silverstreak, a moderator on Bimmerforums, took a stock 2.0L S2000 13.66 at ATCO....

From where I sit it appears the M3 gets the better launch (which makes sense considering the torque advance) then they are pretty much seem equal (slight advantage M3) Just before the M3's brakes come on, the Honda seems to start to come back but I am thinking it's because the M3 has let off the gas.

I would guess both are pretty stock with pretty similar drivers. But what do I know...

i think this was a fair race...

to compare (example): go to jimmy540i.com; go to comparisons; then click on the one with the S4 and watch the first video-"my 540i vs audi S4."

the 540 runs 1/4 m. in 12.5; the S4 in 13.4. this is almost a full second. now during the race (around the middle) the camera looks at the speed and theyre almost at 100 mph, now look at the distance between them. (now, remember the full second difference and also that the m3 vs s4 is at about 70-80 mph)

okay, i'm lost now but get what i'm saying? forget it.....

but like what purple said "thats why i think this lead is possible.. i ran a 13.98.. and theres no tellin what the distance difference is in .4 secs.. ya never know.." i've raced my friend's s2000 plenty times and i got almost the same outcome.

                  I LOVE THAT 540 VS S4 VIDEO THOUGH... =)
