    Anyone install the AA Supercharger?

Well, I've decided to save my pennies for the AA supercharger. I want it by the summer, however, I don't think I'll beable to afford to have someone install it. So I think I'm on my own. Anyone that can give me some advice or help would be a hero to me hehe. Is the installation something hard that a simple college boy like myself, unable to open up the engine, would beable to complete... correctly? :???:

i have heard so long as you are mechanically inclined with patience it can be done inside of a weekend with a place to work and the proper tools.

Head over to www.bimmerforums.com and go into the forced induction section where numerous people have them installed and a few have done it themselves. If you register over there, you should private message a member by the name of GQ_Style ; he installed his in about a day and a half with just jack stands, an open garage and some tools.

you send aa your ecu whenever you have a few days or even during your installation and they overnight it back to you after they have reflashed it. It might need some minor dyno-time but in theory it should be dyno tuned out of the box.

I emailed a guy with AA yesterday to ask about this very thing. Superchargers must be on the mind for alot of us. Maybe we could do the largest group buy of the century. Anyway, AA charges $1000 to install which I don't think is too bad but I would probably consider installing it myself. Although a quick trip down I-95 and a 'quicker' trip back would be fun too.

So I must figure 7000 for the supercharger with all work done. That seems somewhat fair I guess... however the ATP turbo is only going to cost 5000... If I'd have them install that I'd be looking at 5000 + Labor... and I'd rather a turbo than a supercharger. If labor is in the neighborhood of 2000 or less I'm buying the turbo kit. Varooom!

The ATP turbo kit hasnt been proven for the E36 M3 yet. They're still finalizing on the tuning on their E46 330i and do not have any full production kits yet for any model.

The AA turbo kit is the only reliable turbo kit out there for the OBD2 without using an aftermarket stand alone engine management system.

The AA supercharger kit can be installed in 2 days. Its very easy. It took me 4 days total because of waiting for the DME and I had to replace a broken bolt.

What did you do with your AA Supercharger? Since you've got the Turbo on now? :P

Oh.. sorry for the confusion. I installed the AA SC kit on a customers '99 M3. He made 294rwhp and 259ft.lbs torque on the M3 with no other modifications.
