    SSR Comps?

I was looking at these weels at tirerack and they seem pretty cool. I was wondering whats the thickest tires I could put on these without rolling the fenders? Im going for the staggered setup. 8.5 front and 9 rear. I also will probably get the GC track coilovers in the near futre so will that affect my tire size? Thanks oh yea 18s.

Need another link... that one's fuked.

If you're talking 18's then 255's will fit on the rear.

don't get the staggered. go 8.5 all the way around. better balance and you can rotate the tires.

sorry- don't know the answers to your other questions.

DSK are those ssr's on your M? How do you like em? How do they compare with the stock wheels? and where/how much did you get them?

those are the comps- 17x8. i love them- look good and easy to clean. i went with 17s because i was a little concerned about strength (wanted a little more tire sidewall for cushion). i've hit some BIG potholes at night (i can dodge almost all of them during daytime) in LA and haven't bent a wheel yet. i bought them used, but tirerack is the only licensed importer for SSR, so everyone gets them through tirerack. check out the new SSR GT7. looks nice- not sure if there is a bmw fitment.

SSR's are nice strong lightweight wheels  I had SSR's on my previous car... they survived all the potholes in LA and K-town when they had the ground dug up and metal plates and potholes everywhere....

              the GT3's look pretty sweet...

                Super Soft Rims.

i have heard way too many horror stories about them bending.

but i also see that a **** load of touring cars use ssr, so either way you go, cant be too bad.

I had them for over 2 yrs..driving in downtown LA and Koreatown (lots of pot holes and metal plates due to some phone company wiring job a while back) and didn't have problems w/ them bending on low profile tires

I've heard of bending as well, but they did just make them stronger.

So if I go with 18x8.5 all around what size tire would fit? Tirerack website reccomends 225. would 235 rub?

i think you can go 245 all the way around. i haven't done it, so can't say for sure.

the GC setup is suppose to give u even more space to fit rubber/wheels.. so u should be able to put the 245's in there easily.. definitly get 18x8.5 all around.. very nice choice

Does anyone know how much the stock 10 spoke wheels weigh?
