How Much RWHP u think i'm making ?

Headers/Full Exhaust no cataic converter straight pipe/chip

headers and exhaust are made by sprintspirit or something like that.

UCC flywheel and unkown aftermarket clutch

    1997 BMW m3 4dr 5spd 77k miles

what do u guys think ?

At the crank, my guess is:

    240 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 8 + 15 = 303.

So at most you probably have 290 at the crank since you never get the most out of mods, and then subtract (I think) 19 % for RWHP.

Edit: By Sprintspirit, do you mean Supersprint?

That seems high Wyatt, but I'm not too familiar with gains from a straight exhaust.

I was going to say like maybe 250 at the wheels if you're lucky?

but I'm totally just throwing numbers around.

If life were more like GT3, you could just add hp for each mod and get like 32109482309 hp easy. oh well.

Bascially you are making 250 crank hp stock as all 3.2 motors make about that much though it is still rated by bmw at 240.

Then you add: 19 crank hp for the straight pipe and exhaust (aa rates their exhaust and tp at 16 rwhp for obd2..so 16 x 1.18= 19)

Then you add about 6 crank hp at best for the headers.

add it all up at the crank and you get 275 crank hp which translates through drive-line losses to :

225.5rwhp....keep in mind engines are never the same so this figure could be as high as 230rwhp.

Astan: to get to about 250rwhp you need: cams, euro hfm, injectors, chip, full exhaust, and maybe headers. The most n/a power from a 3.2 obd2 m3 is 264rwhp. THat car had unichip custom tuning, all that i mentioned above, and a 95 intake manifold.

actually Wyatth's guess is at 235 rwhp, right around where I would guess.

Wow, yeah I was just being nice with my 250.

These cars are too expensive to mod effectively . I need to buy a civic (jk).

Edit: I am a victim to skimming...I admit it. Sorry Wyatth. I thought you were saying 290 to the wheels. so then I just picked a figure much lower then 290...which was still higher than the ACTUAL figure you gave. LOL. I'm going out drinking- I'm dumb today.

its hard to see civic turbo kits for like 2k when my suspension is going to cost the very same amount and give me no power boost at all.

However, then you are driving a civic instead of the m..there are reasons we pick the m besides modability.

as an aside: that was the smoothest sell i have ever made on a forum. I was very impressed.

I dont know. Some people with absurd setups ie Stickley Sedan on bf.c has an absurd amount of work done by the engine builder chuck stickley and he makes around 254rwhp. So the difference between the stickley motor and this guy's slightly modded engine should be alot more than 19rwhp. Below i copied and pasted the stickley engine specs which this guy owns:

310hp N/A, Chuck Stickley Built 99 BMW M3 3.2l bottom end, 95 LTW M3 3.0L head with 5 angle valve job producing a 28% increase in flow, Undercut lightweight valves, Shrick Cams, 540i HFM, 24 lb injectors, Euro Conforti intake, OBD1 Conversion 3dautoworks, Evosport Underdrive Pullies, Dynotuned by CSSMotorsports, TMS 10lb flywheel, UUC: Ert Short Shifter, Big Boy Shift Knob, Clutch Stop, transmission enforcers with BMW 320i transmission mounts, Removed Restrictor Valve in tranny line, 3.46LSD with 75% lockup diffsonline, Borla Race mid pipe, Dinan exhaust,

All of those mods when added, especially the custom tuning, make this car that much more powerful, by that i mean they all add something.

Sometimes it is just that hard to get those last few hp. But I agree, I think we are all being a little optomistic

Just to clarify, Dan's Stickley-engined M3 sedan put down 269 whp on a Dynojet in the middle of the winter, 259 whp on the same dynojet in aroud 100 degree weather, and 234 whp on Chuck Stickley's own Mustang dyno which always yields lower figures than a Dynojet. Dan's sedan is....interesting. It's power really varies due to weather conditins, worse than the normal power fluctuations of mine and any other M3 that I have driven.

My guess on msceletronic's car is the same as Extrav. Dreams, 235 whp.
