    Where to run RCA cables???

Putting a Pheonix Gold amp in my '95 and would like to know where you guys think is the best location to run the RCA cables from the dash to the Amp in the trunk.

I want to make it as hardly noticable as possible, with little to no modification to the interior of the car...

    What are your thoughts???

Any pics you have would help a lot as well

    Thanks,

    Cameron

I ran mine along the driver's side, under the lower door sill, between the rear arm rest and rear seat, behind the rear seat back to the trunk. You can also run them under the center console following the path of the factory wires. I just thought it would be easier to take the other path.

question: are you running a stock head unit? or aftermarket? if its stock, there are no rca plugs in the back

so before i go on, which setup do you have?

aftermarket deck. how long of RCA cables do you run?

how do you get to the back of the deck to plug the RCAs in?

also, how do you get like the center console and stuff up?

        thanks

no ? about it.. i ran 2 sets down the center... meaning right by the stickshift.. it has 0 interference.. and sounds awesome.. plus it looks perfect.. everything went back perfect.. no problems.. definitly the best spot to run them

Run it down the middle like purple said. It is not that difficult and there are no other wires for the cables to pick up noise.

I ran mine through the middle with some Phoenix Gold RCAs(the next to best in their series). But I get some engine noise....4 channel amp is gain'ed at 1/4. Not sure what the problem is....tried different ground, shorter ground, larger ground.....anyone have suggestions? Maybe a RCA Ground noise supressor?

Maybe it's my amp...HiFonics Series VIII Europa (the first 4 channel amp with a built-in crossover). Maybe cause it's old, but sounds great!

Many people have had luck with an RCA Ground noise surpressor. Before buying one, pull the RCA's out of the amp and see if it is still there. This will isolate the problem to the cables themselves. Make sure they are not near any power wires, especially as the get into the trunk.

can you guys tell me how to get to the back of the deck and how to take the center console out?

also, do i need to remove the back seat? if so, how do i do this?

                  thanks

                  i am new to BMW's

I have been a subaru person all my life. I have a 95 legacy with a turbo transplant, tec 3 stand alone ecu, and full racing suspension.

There are two little screws on the radio, one on either side. Just flip open a little cover panel. It is an odd shape, but you should be able to unscrew them with a small allen wrench.

The back seat just pulls straight up, then pull towards the front of the car for the side bolsters. Pull pretty hard and they will pop towards you, then you can lift up. Remove the center console and you should have a clear path to run RCA's.

I have a diffrent question. Did you guys run your power from the power connector under the hood or straight from the battery in the trunk??

thanks for the replies, but i still cant figure out how to get all plastic parts off.

i took out the ash trays, and was able to remove the cup holder part from the center consol, but that is it. i cant get the center consol apart from the shifter section.

any info would be great. thanks
