the sound in my new purchase is bad. After listening closely, the kick panel speakers seem fine but the two in each door are crap. Any suggestion as to replacements. Also it appears that there are 8 speakers in the car. The bentley manual says either 6 or 10. any thoughts.

um.. i believe there are 4 in the back compartment.. a tweeter and woofer on each side.. therefore the 10.. but what i did was remove the rears and replace the fronts with a high quality 2 way component.. works like a charm now.. sounds amazing.. -
can you be more specific about the fronts. I don't know the lingo for audio stuff. I think i only have one rear speaker on each sideComment

for the rears it looks like there are 2 speakers.. but there are actually a tweeter and woofer in there.. its a special casing.. unless u have the HK system.. if u have HK its a 6x9 i believe.. anyways.. in the front u have a tweeter and mid in the front.. obviously visible.. the u have a 5 1/4" woofer in the kick panel located at ur fee on the outer side of the car.. so what i did was remove all the speakers.. i left the rears out to port it to the trunk and put two subs in the trunk.. therefore allowing the base to come in the car.. then changed the headunit.. and bought a pair of 2 way component speakers.. i replaced the woofer location with the woofer that came with the setup and replaced the top tweeter location with the tweeter that came with it and left the mid open.. therefore i cut down my speaker system to 4 speakers and to subwoofers.. it sounds very clean and pure.. there are other things u have to get such as amps etc.. but u can find everything for a decent price.. let me know if i answered ur ?..
i do'nt know many people that just replace speakers on the stock system.. just not worth it i guess.Comment
