cig lighter light? burned out, help!

I have been fixing little things to get my car back to 100%. The lighter light is burned out and I can't figure out how to pull up the center to replace it? Anyone done this? Its got to be eazier then I am making it.

It is very easy. Put your fingers in the pocket below the OBC and feel the top side. There will be a hole and you can kind of work the OBC out of the hole towards you.

Once the OBC is out, the pocket is attached to that lower piece and it will slide up. It should not take any longer than 20 seconds.

Tacblack - Please let me know exactly what you have to do to fix this, parts, etc. I need to do the same thing.

      TIA

I wouldn't think there would be a fuse just for the cig lighter light? Wouldn't other lights not function as well if the problem was with a fuse?

I will check if the lighter works, think it did and check fuse first.

After that I will try to change it out. I should know this I guess but what is the OBC?

Don't tell anyone but I am supposed to be an engineer:banghead:

It is the "On board computer" just above the sunglass pocket

97BLKM3COUPE, was right had to work a little to get the on board computer out then I just slide the sunglass tray up and pulled the light out. Didn't take any tools. Don't know the light buld part # I used the one from the coin holder. I didn't like that one on I took it out long ago.

Thanks for the help I would have never found that on my own. It did take a little longer then 20 seconds, but that was the first time.

Funny thing the light is not a bright as I remember it. Or its just been so long since it worked.

My car doesn't have a coin holder light? Maybe that was a 1995 thing???
