    Driver's side window.

My window sometimes stops and retracts midway after fully pressing the automatic roll up button, what's going on in there? Any ideas?

    common problem unfortuneately.

Both mine do the same thing.

You need to buy new window motors(i think)...which clearly aren't worth the expense.

Just learn to hold the button a little longer before releasing.

happened to me also... it was the motor that was broken and i had to get it replaced by my local bmw dealer... i have extended warrenty and only had to pay $50 for labor... other than that i think it would cost $150 + tax?

its the motor - mine did the exact same thing, but was replaced under warranty. I hear its an expensive part so good luck.

Its called the "window actuator" to replace the whole system is around 500.00. Just prees the butoon down the whole time and you wont have a problem.

Mine does the same thing. I just deal with it as long as it goes up and down.

I'm going to wait until a few other things break...I have a list going...and then I'm going in for all my warranty work.

I pay by the appointment, not by the item so I want to batch it.

As soon as something critical like RSM fails...I'm getting new actuators and a fan motor.

lol, I always thought it was because I was moving!

Hehe... well, I'll deal with it, and add it to the bottom of the list (you know, that part of the list you never really get to?)

                  : )

What if you went to a junk yard? Wouldn't any 3 series e36 have what you need?

If you found an e36 with low miles that was wrecked, it might work for cheap.

                    Just a thought.
