The most dangerous on the road....

After recently taking a new job with a 100 mile roundtrip jaunt each day on the Massachusetts Turnpike I have developed alot of time to observe and wonder. The question of the day: What is the most dangerous operator of a motor vehicle today? I have two primary candidates. First: The mid-life crisis male age who drives his minivan like it has the suspension and brakes of a M3 (that he truely craves), or; The post teenage female who uses her cell phone while driving?

I have been almost run off the road doing 85mph by these examples.

I would like to add to the mix:



A) The "45 in a 65 seniors looking thru the wheel" crowd

B) The "my Civic hatchback with 67 fwhp is a 355" crowd

C) The "I'm not happy with my life and I'm prepared to take it out on this here car and you" crowd

IF you are from the south, you'd have to agree pickup truck drivers who think they are in sports cars are up on the list.

From what I've noticed around here, more pickup truck drivers are a-holes compared to other types of drivers. It seems like some have the attitude that they're in a monster truck, so you better move for them or they'll run you over. Some also love to tailgate or pull up as close as they possibly can to you bumper at stop lights. I've even narrowed to down to makes:

1. Ford drivers seem to be the most aggresive followed by

2. Dodge

3. Chevy

i hate to be stereotypical, but all the asian people i know have totaled at least 1 car.

Yeah same here I dont want to be stereotypical but I have known quite a few asians to total their car.



Pickup truck drivers that drive their truck like a sportscar.. Well I usually just slam on my breaks in front of them.



I might fight into the crowd about not caring and I'm going to go out with this car and yoru car..

anyway that ties into my little experience in Hollywood one time... there was some Russian or Armenian guy.. not sure exactly what ethnicity he was... he was driving an SUV and swerves into my lane and almost hit my driver side door and fender.. then we get to a red light and he starts talking $hit to me in a really thick accent... and has the nerve to tell me to "go back to your country" wtf? I was born and educated in the US and speak better English than him.... anyway when the light turned green he floors it and makes a RIGHT TURN in front of my car wtf?



people w/ big cars and trucks where they know they'll cause a lot of damage seem to be aggressive drivers here in CA.. then theres those civics that think thier sports cars...

The worse drivers are teenage girls. Believe me, it seems like every time I go for a ride with a chick she will drive 20 over the speed limit through traffic while talking on the phone even though she has no idea how to drive. And to noarrow it down more the hot ones are even worse!

Teenage girls in Cavaliers. Especially red ones. Cell phone in-hand and a walnut sized brain.



And yes, the cuter they are the worse they drive.

The girls are bad I suppose...and they don't learn their lessons because they can cry for the cops and get off. My girlfriend did that and she was doing like 15 over...grrrr. I never would have gotten away with it.

Here's another that I've found during my cummute on I 495 in Massachussetts. Semi Truck drivers are way too aggressive. They'll do 85 and live on your back bumper, they'll block you in when you try to merge from the on ramp. LOSERS!



Of course there's always the other male commuter (usually in an Altima or Accord) who envies the //M and starts driving offesively because he's pissed that his job doesn't pay enough for him to drive one. (at least that's what I like to think)

I'd definately have to agree with the girl thing.



My sister (now 23) has totalled two cars and gotten into about 5 fender benders in the last 4 years or so. She definately drives with her cell phone and gets distracted by just about anything. I was just reading an articles about this on the MSN homepage... http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Insurance/Insureyourcar/P41964.asp ... she does just about all of these.



Then there is my g/f, she has only totalled one car but my God, everytime I ride in her car I hold on for dear life! She is very bright and not in her teens but she's just not a great driver for whatever reason. It's ok though, I'll just drive her.



Oddly, enough I have not been in a wreck, yet I do all sorts of things to distract me. But I guess I don't that stuff when I'm in rush hour traffic. Or maybe it is the uncanny ability of the M to help me avoid accidents.



My vote is definately for the younger (popular) girls.

its definitly the teenage girl.. the teenage girl has put 2 of my boys in serious danger.. one smashed up a supra TT.. and the other was a totalled GSX.. the supra had around 15g's worth of damage.. argh
