    The Shark Injector

Does this thing really work? I mean i dont wanna spend 400 dollars if this thing really dosent work. If it really does work, do any of you guys have a dyno chart to prove it. I also noticed that most of you guys just brought a chip instead. Are the chips better cause they are pretty much the same price, but the shark injector is just that much easier to install. Just press the button and thats that.

If you have an OBDII, you have to get the shark injector. The OBDI's can use chips, but the Shark Injector is our way of modding the compo on our 96+ M3.

It works great btw, you can really feel a difference ^_^

Don't look for power gains with the SI. If you are looking for the higher redline and speed limiter removal then its great.

AA and Dinan also make software for OBDII e36's.

i wouldn't say there are huge gains but it definitly smooths out the curves... thats the best thing about it i think.. but they also didn't tune it too aggressive... i believe it was tuned for 91 oct.. while the others are tuned for 93.. i think its probably the safest as far as chips go.. but they all work well.. im happy.

I had the Shark Injector on my 328iS and i felt a HUGE difference in torque in the lower RPMs...I dont know how effective it is on the M3, i plan on sharking my M3 as soon as i have the money to do so. I give it a thumbs up

I always run 93 in my car anyway. Are the AA and Dinan software more aggressively tuned than the shark? What would you guys recommend in my situation? The money isn't an issue (they're probably similarly priced anyway) but I want to get the most power increase.

            Thanks for the advice.

AA is the most agressively tuned.. i would go with it if i had to do it all over.. but the shark is fine for the time being.. maybe one day i will upgrade to the AA software..

already have the JC Shark Injector because several people gave it good reviews when I asked, and it was reversible to stock program, etc.. and don't really have the intention of spending to get another ECU upgrade...

but just curious.. if the AA is tuned for 93 octane... I live in CA and our "Premium" unleaded is 91 octane.. what happens if you have an AA on a car in CA? does the ecu retard or tone down whatever the AA chips program says to do? or will it cause any problems like knocking, pinging, detonation, etc cuz of the 93 requirement, but only getting 91 (thats all we have in CA)

AA will custom program the chip for you. Just tell them you live in CA.

The AA chip(or software?) seems a bit interesting....tell me more you guys....reading about it on AA website right now....but please tell me some experiences.

Krazyie----The SI worked for me. A crisp throttle repsonse and the limiter was removed. I ran my 98' m3 on a new highway and surpassed the governor of 137mph by running up to 146 mph be4 running out of road. I did the SI install first, ran around the block then installed the Conforti cold-air intake. I dyno'd the car the next week and picked up 16 hp and 14 ft lbs of trque to the wheels. Both cost 349.99. I'm happy and now looking for a good exaust. Hope this helps. -Eric

The speedometer is very inaccurate at that speed. When my car was bone stock I hit 145mph knowing for a fact it should've been governed at 135mph.

The faster you go, say over 115-120, the more inaccurate the it will be.

Pardon the ignorance, but what is a shark injector. Is it a CPU.

In addition any idea what kind of HP gain you get out of intake, exaust and CPU. I know the veriables are infinite but could anyone give a general rough estimate.

Lastly what kind of 0-60 and 1/4 time do you think you will get.
