I feel sort of guilty for starting this thread. In no way did I mean for this to be a bash thread on UUC. I was just wondering if others had waited a while for their orders. I really don't mind the wait as long as I recieve quility parts and have no problems with the products. Rob, on my behalf take your time. Don't rush anything just keep producing fine quality products you guys are known for.

hey, there is no need to cop an attitude with me. I thought i would help you by explaining.
I think Rob is deceptive..so does this forum. Hows that for simple. You happen to distribute for uuc and while i think that is a mistake you can do that, but know that uuc isnt the best with customer service..no two ways about it. My only complaint so far in this thread with uuc service was when i referenced one forum member being told the part was in stock and would ship only to find out later that it was backordered...not that its the end of the world, but its a headache. UUC should have parts ready and if not tell you so or atleast give a realistic, ungeneric delay time.

First of all I dont call four times a week, helll I didnt call until this thread started and it had been over a month. Second, my time is worth money and if I have to spend 30 mins on the phone or emailing - b/c I have no idea where an order is or when it will ship if ever - then yes, its wasting my time and money. I could care less about how many people want UUC products and how they are trying to keep up. Oh well, if I cant serve my clients they go somewhere else, just like I will. Their is no melodrama here, I'm not crying, I'm just trying to help make everyone aware of the situation. Seeing as how that bothers you understeer I guess I wont be getting my fan delete kit or anything from you in the future. I know it doesnt bother you, nor will it affect your business. But at least I know I'm not ordering from someone who doesnt have a problem with shiit service, and in fact defends it.

The thing you're forgetting is that inventories are not static and you're not the only one ordering parts. If you call UUC and ask if they have something in stock, they may very well have 4 of whatever item sitting on a shelf in front of them and tell you so, but if 5 Internet orders come in while they're on the phone with you then that part becomes backordered with no deception on their behalf. I've had the same type of deal happen to me and I do a tiny fraction of the business that UUC does. With the call volume UUC deals with, they're not going to remember that they told you an item was in stock on the phone when you order on their web site hours later after the in stock items are sold out, especially when the guy processing the orders isn't necessarily the same guy that answered your phone call, Rob isn't sitting there by himself after all.

Perfect summary Elliott.
If you order from UUC and the parts end up being out of stock and you don't want to wait, just cancel your order and move on. There's really no reason to get so worked up about car parts.

In fear of flame I shall nevertheless make my final observation on this.
I'm afraid I don't agree with you understeer on this particular issue. I do not agree that Elliott has summed this thread up "perfectly" (sorry 97'!). He's missed a key argument, that of full disclosure as an element of sound customer service.
Here's my summary.
* UUC make desirable products at a competitive price.
* The UUC exhaust seems to have had demonstrable fit and finish issues.
* These issues do not seem generally significant (although I'm sure they're significant to the individual).
* These issues have cost owners time and money.
* Customers still recommend UUC products with vigour and enthusiasm.
* A sample of board members across three boards shows a significant amount of customer dissatisfaction with order delays.
* UUC do not reliably set expectations correctly nor manage these customer expectations very well on an ongoing basis.
* This is insufficient reason for many to avoid UUC.
* This is sufficient reason for many to avoid UUC.
* Even UUC suppliers "stockpile" and recommend "shopping around for actual stock". This indicates UUC's partners recognise the problem is real and ongoing and have taken action to mitigate the risk.
* UUC operate on a just-in-time basis (or they would always have stock). This is clearly not an approach that is working for their customers or partners.
* UUC could obviously learn something from their partners. This is not however required, it is a matter of choice for UUC.
* UUC have in this, and other easy to find threads, deflected the blame for this recognised and ongoing problem.
* UUC, in the interest of good business practice could implement systems that shield their customers from workshop, manufacturing, freight etc problems.
* UUC don't do this and their customers continue to get frustrated that they can't reliably access good products.
We are left to wonder why.

Eisenmann is a good exhaust. ....3 different choices of performance/gain/sound, respectively.
You're not sacrificing your vast variety of quality product choices. Hey, you guys shouldn't complain to UUC, I mean there is a direct affect....you pay less and you lose service. Pay a little more somewhere else for other quality products than UUC and get quality service.
