    Guess the sounds

As you know, we all have these little sounds that our cars make and we get all paranoid about. Well, here is one that is really starting to worry me.

First off, my car sounds like a Diesel when cold but this was discussed in another thread and I now presume this to be my lifters. However, a new noise has caught my attention. Whenever I give my car gas there is this slight mechanical friction noise. It happens while driving, sitting, in gear, out of gear, at any rpm and at any throttle position, except at idle. However, it is easiest to hear when still, at low rpms, inside the car.

I just started noticing it recently, after I changed my oil but it may have been there before. A note on the oil change, I used gunk and then drained it Completely, then filled it back up with 6 quarts of 10W-30 and one quart of 0W-40. Which is fine for the temperature here.

I have not quite figured out of the noise is temperature dependent. I have trouble hearing it when it is cold but it may just be that the diesel noise covers it up.

    Any ideas?
