    Pilot Sport Cup?

Has anyone here used the Mich. pilot sport cups? I am considering them for my extra set of wheels. They would be used mostly on the track and occasionally on the road. How do they wear compared to the pilot sports?

Look at tire rack...they tested them against the regular pilot sports I think. They should have a treadwear rating as well.

I looked in this thread hoping it was some kind of aftermarket cup holder or something : )

They are very nice track tires. They have great grip and will take a number of heat cycles. But they do take 3-4 laps to heat up, and may not have the ultimate grip of a kumho or hoosier. They also don't come in ideal sizes for e36's. You have to run the 225/45 or the 255/40. Their 255/40 is huge, you will need to roll your fenders a good amount to fit them.

I would not run the on the street, no reason to run r comps on the street.

          ^^what he said.

but the good part is that the could be run on the street, but the ride would ****. and that they can be heat cycled many times.

PSC's are outstanding track tires that require at least 3 laps to warm up. As importantly, they also require at least 2 degrees of negative camber in front to be effective, since the inner tread compound is different that the outer tread compound. Without that camber, you'll wear the outer edge fast, With that camber, they will last forever. I had a set last ~14 H-A-R-D track days (I am an instructor), plus driving to/from 2 different tracks that are between 115 and 200 miles away EACH WAY. And they still had life left until I flat spotted them. As they get older, they take more heating to warm up properly. They are incredible!

But they are NOT for the street. Trust me on this.

For TWS, Sean? Sorry, I won't be able to be there, since I have already committed to instruct for Porsche Club that exact weekend at MSR.

And the extra-sad part is that the TWS event will also have a sub group of Panteras, Ferraris, Lambo's, and other Italian Cars on Sunday.

I'm not blonde, but I'll admint, that one went completely over my head at first : )

Think maybe I had better go get some blonde highlights... I need them.

Would the Pilot Sport Cup make a good sumer tire? This also goes for the Kuhmo V700.

They are track tires, not street tires. Niether of those would make good street tires.
