Largest tires w/ my new wheels

I'm seriously thinking about buying a set of 18's from the wheel exchange. i want the m5 replica wheels on my m3.

i do like the staggered setup, which is factory on my 98 M3. i would like to maintain a staggered setup if possible.

what do you guys recommend if i get the 18's in terms of tire sizing? i want the biggest wheels i can get of course.. with no rubbing, no rolling fenders..

    thanks guys

Hey Ubersnax. I have 18 x 8.5 in the front and 18 x 9.5 in the rear. I have Breyton Inspirations. I too love the staggered setup. I think it makes the car look more aggressive and sterdy.

Anyways, I don't know how offsets work on different rims but i can tell you that i have 265/35/18's in the rear with the breyton's. But i did have to roll the fenders for those tires. The set of tires i had before these were 245/35/18 and they didn't rub and i didn't have to roll my fenders. The reason i decided to eventually get the 265's and take a chance on rolling my fenders was because i hated the way the tires looked. They sloped inward to much. The 265's look much better. I'm very happy with them and my paint didn't chip at all when my fenders were rolled.

Well i hope this tid bit of information helped you out a bit.

the staggered set up may look better, but running the same size will give better balance to the car (take advantage of that near 50-50 weight distribution) and will also allow you to rotate your tires.

the M5 replicas may look nice, but you should also factor weight into your decision.

Upon further investigation, I have found that the wheels are not 18X8.0 they are indeed 18x8.5.

          What offset do I need?

          They weigh under 25lbs each..

Let me try and save you some hardache and time.

DO NOT GO THROUGH THE WHEEL EXCHANGE!!!!

I tried going through them this past June to get my M Parallels. They lied to me saying the wheels were in and in the process of being shipped in the beginning of July, but when I called again in the middle of July they said they haven't come in yet. This was after I paid for tires and paid them for the wheels and shipping. After all this BS, it was the middle of August and Bimmerfest was coming up. Talked with Chris at RimPro and he hooked me up in a week. It was great.

I would sugguest going through RimPro.

*The staggered look is hot as hell. Didn't want to roll my fenders so I kept the 18x8.5 all around.

                  -Mike
