    Car failing @ WOT

Ok lets see if someone can help me out with this problem.

If I drive my car normal (not racing) everything works perfect, also if I step on the gas progressive is all fine, but if I go WOT from a dead stop my car will fail at high RPM's, for a fraction of a sec the car stop pulling and it does that several times up to 7K.

I was getting into the freeway @ WOT and my car fail in 3rd gear and 4th gear. If I step on the gas (not WOT) nothing happens but if I go WOT the car fails @high RPM's.

    Any ideas..............

    Thanks

    Matt

BTW So far I changed spark plugs, fuel filter and checked ground conectons.

That's your ASC/traction/rev limiter working. Punching the ASC button in front of the gear shift...might help a little. I think if you want to really get rid of it, you might have to get a Shark program to raise your rev limit. Just a guess though...I'm not positive.

its not the asc. Have you dynoed the car to check the a/f? You might also check the computer for fault codes. Another rare thing, did you use heater hose on your m50 swap? Check all your manifold connections again.

could your plugs be gapped improperly?

Its definantly not the asc as SGM3 said. I hope you find the problem behind this..whats the fun in all this power if you cant use it properly.

I have Dinan SW and is not my ASC cuz is off all the time.

I had this problem before the M50 manifold so is not from there.

I'm gonna dino my car next friday but I was hoping to found the problem first. I thought that it might be the coil packs, there is no damage from the out side but I can't figure out anything else.

Fuel? Fuel pressure? That would throw a code, as would injectors and pump but I'd check all this as well.

i would say fuel too.. it just doesn't sound like its getting what it needs right away so it has to wait until it gets there.. the best way to figure that one out though would be the dyno..

One more thing. If I drive the car in the freeway and I take it up to 6k and I keep it at same speed the car won't fail, is only when I'm @ WOT, so the car fails when the car is pulling hard.

Does your CE light flash on when it fails? My car does the same thing, but a small puff of black smoke shoots out the exhaust. I think my problem is either 1. My chip 2. The additives in the gasoline during winter time causing problems with the programming of my chip or 3. my injectors or 4. my o2 sensors.... your problem sounds just like mine. It drives normally, if I am at WOT it will feel as though all of the fuel cuts out at about 5-6k rpm's occasionally and the second I let off and get back on the gas it is back to normal.

There is no CE lights, I have the Peake tool and nothing is showing. Whenever that happens if I still @ WOT the car will still pusshing but also still failing. I don't think is the gas cause I'm using differents brands, then ijectors don't know how to test them.

I bet its your spark plugs. Tighten those things up while the engine is warm, or even hot. This happened with my eclipse turbo. Only at wide open throttle, when the engine is pulling as much air in as it, do you notice the sudden stop... its almost as if it's missing. Tighten the spark plugs up and see if that helps.
