i think that its more important that he doesnt waste his money on crappy bulbs and a short explanation of the difference in between them and HID.. not a whole report with perfect grammar and spelling, this isnt a resume, its a forum..

I put a set of Sylvania silver Star lights in on Monday. They cost $20 per bulb. Light output is dramaticaly better. I think it also gives the look you are after. I can not see forking out the kind of cash it takes to switch the lights to euro spec. I think you should try these befor you. A good friend of mine with a supercgarded SVT focus turned me on to them. Says that the SVT Foci have decided that they are better than the piaas next best thig to true HID.
All I know is they are bright as hell and have a slight blue hue to them. and the whole set cost me a mere 70. after mail in rebate. Got them at Autozone

OH MY G its so so bright especially with hi beam. both inside and outside lights become high beam when you turn the high beam on!! great retro kit if you want the ultimate try it. by the way depos are fine especially when your going to retrofit a bixenon kit into it.
I thought the same thing, except when I looked back at the recent threads this topic has been the title of thee threads in as many days. Ok maybe it was 4 days. But seriously I think the reason why it is so popular is that it is a cool upgrade but very confusing. There are so many options out there. Obviously the cheap ones are no good, but even among the expensive ones the prices seem to range from $300 - $700. I was trying to do some research myself and got too frustrated and gave up. I went to umnitz site, which seemed to have a lot of good product, but I can't tell why the Depo is $250 and the ZKW are $440. I guess when I get closer to actually making a purchase I will get someone on the phone to answer all my questions. In addition I tried looking around for the best price but it seems everyone has a little different setup, comparing apples to oranges so to spreak, so it's hard to know what the "best price" is. I guess I should just plan on spending about $600 so I don't go through the hassel of buying cheap ones and having to continue to upgrade until I am satisfied, and end up spending twice as much in the end.
