Need Help!!! How to replace Foglights?

Hi i am new to the m3 world and well as you can see i am a nissan guy. But I have recently purchased a 97 M3 for my wife. Well i was driving one day and well my passenger foglight fell out and cracked. I have bought replacements, but cant figure out how to install them. Do i have to take the front bumper off, just pull it out, or do it from underneath the car? I hate the driving around with one foglight and the other is barely hanging on. Any help is appreciated. If not fixed will have to take to dealership.

I have not done this myself but from what I understand it is very easy. Just take a flat head screwdriver and pop the foglight out by going in through the brake duct next to the foglight. To reinstall, it should just pop back in.

The fog light itself attaches to a bracket. If the bracket is broken then you do need to get underneath the car to replace the broken bracket (no need to take the front bumper off just work from underneath it). If it is the fog light itself then that is much easier... As AMGpowerJ said you "pop" the fog light out, disconnect the wiring and insert the new fog light.

To pop it out, you insert a flathead scredriver into the larger of the two holes in the brake duct adjacent to the fog light (the smaller hole is to access the allen head adjustment on the fog light bracket). You insert the flathead with end of it vertically and press the "button" on the bracket to eject the fog light. Very neat design that makes it easy to replace.

OEM replacement fog lights will be sold with the bracket also. Once you take a look at it you'll understand how to eject the fog light using the screwdriver... My guess (because the fog light fell out) is the bracket may be broken also.

      Good Luck...

I can't add too much, but when you're poking around, your screwdriver should be almost perpendicular and you should be poking near the top of the brake duct.

Just be a little careful, about six years ago I broke one of my dad's foglights(the little plastic clip that holds it in) on his M3 when I was trying to take them out. Shouldn't be hard to do though.
