    New audio setup question

Just wanted to know what you guys think of this setup:

For now I plan on getting a Alpine 7894 HU and keeping the stock HK speakers.(should I bypass the stock amp?) and a JL Audio ProWedge with a 10inch W7 sub and a JL 500/1 amp to power it.

Here's a link for some info on the sub: http://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/CLS110RGW7.html

just run the HU through the stock amp.. don't bypass.. it can only improve quality.. u may eventually blow the speakers though.. the HU is the first upgrade everyone should make.. as for the sub.. looks like a decent setup.. i would go with it..

Get an aftermarket amp for the stock speakers and make sure you cross over the speakers so they don't go below 80Hz. This will make it less likely to blow your stock speakers. It is not volume that necessarily blows speakers, it's distortion. That's why it is important to amp your front speakers to keep up with your sub. An amp allows you to increase the volume to the speakers and decreases the distortion.

i would run the speakers through the stock amp too, even though an aftermarket amp may improve quality.....as for the sub, i would run that off of the HU and through its own aftermarket amp.

Thanks. What about a preamp for the front speakers? Would that help?

              If it helps:

I've got a 4 way amp off which I'm running the sub (bridged) and the two front kickers. I'm using the stock amp to run the front mids and highs, no rear speakers.

              Sounds great.
