I've had the failure for a long time, and got ride of the bastard. Having spent six months doing so, there are some common ways. The most common cause is LED bulbs. Since they pull much less power they cause a fault, setting off the OBC when you turn on your lights. Another common one is that the metal bits that apply preassure to the bottom of the bulp have lost some elasticity, and are not longer connecting properly. Some of the clears that are used seem to have the metal pieces that light up with the bulb carrier a little off alighnment, or sometimes just not thick enough, which is why so many clears have problems. The last and worst cause is the dreaded trunk harness wearing thin/out. Only one way to check that, and it sucks. If you've done all the above, and still get it, then lemme know and I'll show you an electrical bypass under the drivers dash that will trick the OBC, but only for the tail light electrics. Only problem with it is that when you do actually have a light out, you have to find it the old fashioned way.

To my knowledge, I have not had one of these yet since I have put in my clears. I have had them in for a month now and the only problem I have had with them is the outer park light bulb assembly would not "hold" tight in the lens assembly when I first got them. I know loose fitting bulb assemblies can trigger the OBC to come on. My fix for the loose assembly was I got two washers and cut about 1/3 off in a pie shape, kept the bigger peice and wedged it in between the metal and the plastic along the bottom, so that when the bulb assembly is turned into the lock position it has a tight fit. I have a couple of pictures I can email if my description is a bit confusing.

My amber taillights gave that reading ever since I purchased the car. I installed the clears, which I got from TMC and made by Magnetti Marelli and I still get teh message. :nixweiss:
