    Quad Exhaust

is there a way to get quad exhaust on the E36 m3? and, would it hinder help or do nothing as far as performance goes and how much would it cost?

    or what about side exhaust?

it would wast time and money.. i would just go with the standard out the back.. the quad is usless and that also means a G for the exhaust plus a new rear diffuser..

Quad exhaust on an E36 M3 would definitely hinder my sensibilities! I also can't see it helping performance in any way. I recently saw a pic of an E36 M3 race car with a side outlet exhaust thru the rocker panel - looked OK on a race car - but stupid for the street.

actually, if you go to a local custom muffler shop, they will be able to do a custom exaust, for much less than the major brands.

but the dual is worthless, just adds weight. but custom is not bad if it is done right, with mandrel bends, and a good muffler.

but again, if you stick with the major brands, you cant go wrong.

The weight alone would offset any power gains you'd ever wish to achieve. Stick to what's proven and don't try to get into anything custom like that unless you are willing to try at it a few times. As for power, one of the many exahusts I've tried that were good happen to be the Borla Race exhaust... awsome sound(kinda loud, how I like it) and fairly light weight... good mid to high end power), Tried Remus carbon... sucked, tried triflo... it sucked. IF you wanted basic ins and out... I'd get a Gruppe M intake and borla race. Thats a winning combo.

i have seen one done over here in the uk and it was a lot of work and cutting about because the battery has to be moved to allow the quad exhaust to come out although it did look good

Waste of time. Since when did a 6 shooter need 4 pipes?
