how much did u guys pay all together for just maintenance-wise. im debating on whether to get an E36 M3 but dont know how the maintenance is. what do i need to look for? what messes up alot? and how much would things be?

I think my experience has been a rare one. But here is what i've done on my car.
My check airbg light came on. Problem was belt buckle needed replacement. That cost me 500 something. ( Also had them look at my door which didn't truly close properly). That was dealership
I had my gas tank lid fixed before it used to pop out, my horn repaired, door fixed again so it wouldn't pop down. That cost 230.
And i changed my clutch belt for around 400 or so.
I had this 1996 m3 for about 2 months. It had 89 K when i bought it. -
I need to be your dealer, man you got ripped off compared to Texas. Number one I wouldn't go to the dealer, check with your local BMW club for good reasonable independent shops. Do some
research for part prices like brake pads, tires etc. Actually most parts are not much more expensive as compared to my Miata but as you can see a dealer will steal you blind. The M3s are pretty reliable, mostly little things. Do yourself a favor and get a manual
and learn to work on the car, it can be fun, save you lots of money and get you out of the house and in to Man land!!! Good luck its one of the best cars I've ever owned and I have had lots.Comment
