    1996 M3 3.0 L?

Here is a question dear to my heart that I need answered. Basically it popped up because I was in autozone getting an air filter for my baby, and they have listed a 3.2 liter and a 3.0 L (MEX).

Basically, the 3.2 L setup didn't fit in my car, the air filter was too big. And then the 3.0 L (MEX) filter was the perfect match. The guy said my engine was a 3.0 L then, and that my car was made in mexico. I think he's a ****ing idiot. I'm confident that mine is the 3.2L, but is it possible because its a 96 that it has the 3.0 L airbox? What is the explaination for this? And where the hell did that S.O.B. pull the mexico thing from? I thought all M-Series were made in Germany... hell I Don't even think there is a plant in MExico?

HEHEHEHEHEHEH.....................that guy is a F$#@ A, there is no M made in Mexico and I'm sure he had the filters mixed and you got the one for a 3.2L.

Go to the $tealer and check the filters again.

    Good luck

    Matt

Maybe your car has a 96 tag but the engine was made in 95? I don't know, but I have a 97 and it was produced in 12/96.

The "M" does not stand for "made in Mexico." Kick that guy in the nuts.
