    What can I do?

I need more power and quick. I have the shark injector which works great. I've got the modifications to the air box done. And my car has lost some wieght. I've got an intake manifold on the way, but it may not make it on time. Is there some other performance modification that costs less than 80 bucks that will make me faster?

Something like cleaning out the catalytic converters? Every little bit will help. And its gotta be something that a mild manner student like myself can accomplish. Has anyone cleaned out the cats on a 96-99 m3?

I'm in the State College, PA area. So if anyone is around and willing to help me quick that would be awesome hehe.

You didn't mention whether you had an exhaust ? Best bang for cheap bucks is get more air into the motor, and then get it out.

You could also put on an underdrive crank pulley, but that's a bit more than $80. You sound like you're in a hurry for more power, so I won't even mention cams!

the cats flow very well on 96+ cars. There really isn't anything for $80.

For a bit more you can get a crank pulley which will give great gains. www.europeanracing.com [url]www.unorthodoxracing.com

how do I do that? how long will it take? and what do I need to finish it? heh

EDIT: All I need is a 32 MM Wrench to take the fan off, correct? This is a short term thing right now. I don't need to do anything else to get the power right?

http://understeer.com/ for kit and instructions. This is the cheapest 5hp @TW you are going to get.

I have a close race coming up. Against an eclipse turbo. Last time I raced him he had an exhaust and intake and a few other mods. Now he's got some more stuff and he's been gunning for me... since I was faster than him barely from a 60 mph roll. So since then I've got my makeshift intake, and the shark injector, and hopefully I'll have my intake manifold... if not I don't know if I can pull off a win, so I'm looking for everything I can get heh.

take out any thing you don't need. back seats, spare, front right seat, maybe run with 1/4 a tank of gas, and don't eat for like 2 days.

OH take out the subs big weight lost there.

this will help but it looks like $hit.

go to home depot and get a flexible aluminum exhaust pipe for a laundry dryer. get the 3" pipe and a hose clamp. cut about 4 or 5 inches off the bigger end which has a clamp on it.

take out your airbox, relocate one of your horns and just take out the other one. then take out your driver side fog light. now shape the pipe so that it goes from connecting directly to the mass air flow meter down to the opening for the fog light. it'll allow air to pump straight into your intake.

if you are just doing a couple runs, don't worry about an air filter, but don't drive around all day without one.

more air directly into the engine, more power. and cheap!!

Thats a great idea, and you know whats better, I don't even need to take out the airbox. I can just use the stock airbox debaffled and have that routed to wherever I want it. Where do you guys thing would be best to route it to... without taking out the foglight?

Did you do the ASC delete yet?

That's another cheap free mod and you certainly don't need that for racing.

No, but I don't think my dealer will have that in stock, ya know?

Run him from a stop, I had an Eagle Talon turbo w/ a few (14psi boost) mods and its hard as hell to get them to hook up w/ the FWD. Now if its AWD it might be a different story, but you should hook up and pull hard from the beginning. I always had to make up ground to win races against the vettes & stangs, etc... Of course drivers make a huge difference as well.
