no, you can just yank the ASC thing for a few days and put it back in later...run some searches. People claim that there is a bump in hp, so it is probably worth trying.

the 3 things you should do to make your car faster for cheap right now have all been said. Take the fan clutch out, lose some weight, and get more air into the engine. if you do any one of these you wont see that big of a difference, but if you do all three your car will be noticable faster. Definitly get rid of the subs for the race, along with the spare and maybe even the back seats. Goodluck and tell us how it turns out. :thumbsup:

Well its been a while, so here is a bump from quite a few pages in hehe



I had my fan delete, air box mod, and jc chip installed... everything else I couldn't get the parts in time to do, which was the Traction Controll delete or my intake manifold which arrived a little late. Anyways my trip to AC was a success in two out of four ways. :thumbsup:



1. Heading down there on 76 I ran into the law... actually I ran past him going 92 in a 65... atleast thats what the speeding ticket he wrote me says. But thats ok, because since I'm a nice guy he said he'd lower it to 10 over, which will be better, but not the best, but still better than the 5 points I'd recieve if it were.



2. So I'm cruising along in my M3 next to my cousin in his superchargered jeep. Just keeping speed since the cops were out like crazy... I forgot it was the end of the month. Anyways, from behind me a black S4 with atleast an intake and exhaust comes into my cross hairs, I go after him. Beautiful car, it was quite fast. But I was a tick faster, even with all my belongings and my 15" sub. Each time we're run I'd play catchup because I usually let the person I'm racing start first, unless we're beeping. So he'd go and then I'd go and crawl up and pass him... at like 120 mph. And we did this the entire way down the expressway. One time we started in 2nd gear, he went first and took off like crazy, and I missed my shift into 3rd But I think he knew so down the road a little he slowed down and we kept on going again and again... This is right after my speeding ticket btw, but it was worth it.



3. So we pull into my cousins beach house, and no more than 5 minutes pass and the eclipse I was to race pulled in the driveway. Well, we went out and raced and like everyone here believed I beat him. Not by too much, but it was very noticable that he couldn't beat me. Started in 2nd and at the top of 3rd he was at my bumper. His car is quick with its full exhaust, but not quick enough. I hear he finally got the downpipe put on, so next time should be closer... nope I got all my stuff put on now too hehe



4. Following all of this was a 2002 FireHawk. That thing is bad ass. We started from a roll, him in 2nd and me in first. We were going maybe 10 mph. I started and ofcourse got the jump, my tires were chirping which was cool. But around 3rd he was passing me and he was passing me pretty good, I slowed down right then for a turn, but it was fast. He told me he had to give everything he had to pass me, so that made me feel good, especially since its like 13.2 in the QM and has 345 hp. Next time I'm down I'm gunning for him with all my stuff that I have done. It runs so much faster.

So recently I raced an automatic, AWD, eclipse turbo. And he ran me on "low boost" and we ran almost head to head. At the top of 4th from a 40 mph roll I was at his bumper. That thing had full exhaust, engine was built, hard piping, front mount intercooler, you name it, it had it... including a big ass turbo. He says the high setting is 7 psi more, I think 22 psi if I remember correctly. Anyways, that thing was very fast, I respect my wins and losses. We had fun. He kept on telling me it was stock before we raced, but I knew better, just seeing the front mount and the exhaust I knew. He was running very rich too. He just got the engine built 300 miles ago, so he didn't want ot run me on high boost hehe... thank god

i agree with Drifter, you should take out things you don't need and run a 1/4 tank. Also buy some sort of octane booster you put in your tank it wont cost more than 50 , so with of 98ron super unleaded the ron rating should be about 102/103 with the booster in the tank. Also one other thing before you set of for your race get a co2 fire exstiguisher and sparay into the middle slot under the front number plate air intake, this in theory should provide colder air and colder air is denser air. the denser the air the bigger the explosion , thus more power, hope that helps.

Put some redline water wetter in with your coolant to drop engine temps. How much street racing do you do? Wait till you get a ticket for racing...then you will be even more unhappy than getting a 92mph speeding ticket
