    Lightweight forged wheels

Whats up guys, well this is the deal.

Im feening for lightweight forged wheels, staggered preferred. If anyone knows of any, sees any, hears of any, lol has any, let me know. This might be a week phase but right now i want them real bad.

Have some staggered contours, actually 5 with brand new tires ill part with when i find the forged, and then i can go back and forth with the ltw forged and the 19s.

Sound like a good idea? i need feedback

    thanks

You looking for the M Motorsport 17' forged wheels?? I have a set.

Even tho they aren't forged... I believe OZ Superleggeras are lighter or you could redrill a set of Enkei RP-F1s... I know they are REALLY light.

If you're talking about the Motorsport "5-spoke", then they are forged. They're nearly identical to the regular 5 spoke that was optional from 1996 - 1999 except without the engraved "BMW Motorsport" which are also forged. I have a set of each and the weights are identical...

Either one should be a good choice if you're looking for forged BMW wheels, but you'll pay much more for the engraved LTW version... I'd look for the "regular" forged 5-spoke.

Oh, the weights for the forged "5 spoke" (also called "M Forged") are 19.7 front, and 20.9 rear.

Do you mean the wheels in my sig? I think they are the best factory wheel option for the E36 M3.

Sure... Here's the standard M Forged:

            Here's the LTW forged:

Note: the pic here of the LTW forged is of the European version which was forged AND polished. That combination was not available in the US. The US version was painted silver instead of polished, but otherwise identical.

Edit: And just to be clear, the 96-99 version of the Standard M Forged (available globally) was polished.

Are you saying that the 95's LTW rims are worth more than the 96-99's? I always thought it was the other way around cause most people want the polished ones? If the 95's are worth more that's good for me.

Generally the LTWs cost more only because there weren't as many made, so they are rarer. I think you're right though that people generally prefer the polished ones... I can't decide which I personally like better, but I use my polished ones for racing and the LTWs when I want to "show off".

Oh, and as you can see by my Sig pic, I use the Contours for winter! (because one can never own enough wheels!)

Painted, forged, and staggered: the 95 LTW rims. Neener, neener!

                      I hate you all ~_^

I want those M Forged rims, but I can't find them anywhere. Well I did find a few, but the owners weren't willing to trade/sell. If anybody has a set I can buy off of them, I'll be waiting!

all of the "LTW" wheels are staggered.

in '95, they were an option. they were stamped with "BMW MOTORSPORT" and were painted.

in '96-'99, they were an option. they were not stamped, and were polished.

no matter which version of the LTW wheels you get, they are all forged and very strong. they were also pricey options (~$1400, iirc), so there aren't a lot of sets out there. hope this helps. btw, all of this applies to US cars. i have no idea if other markets are different.

I ran into a curb and got insurance to pay for new rims, I had the rims with many spokes(don't know the name), had "Motorsport" on them, they are chrome. Now after that incident I got to choose these rims. Dealer quoted $746 for ONE rim in the rear! I chose this rim because of looks, a lot of people don't like my choice and liked contours better....:???: But I guess I chose ones that are light and strong..=)

Sorry for the bad pic quality, my camera phone took it =\
