    x-brace and new suspension

I have a 98 M3 and am considering doing some suspension work to it. The reason for this sudden itch is two-fold:

    1. The rear shocks are pretty worn (my mechanic said so) &

    2. That DARN MOD BUG!

I was considering throwing in an x-brace and a suspension kit and was wondering from those of you that have them if its worth the money. Does it really tighten up the suspension and is the ride bearable, or is it very rough.

Thanks in advance for your time

ps - If I was going to change the suspension setup, is it just worth it to redo the RSMs (factory now) regardless of their condition?

x-brace is a no brainer, same for upgrade rsm's.

Now for suspension, Do you track the car? What adjustability do you want? Height and dampening?

no tracking, its a daily...just want it to look as mean as possible and I wan't to have more fun (i'm a greedy bastard) driving it! Not too low, I was thinking 1", maybe 1.5" at max on both ends, but it should corner like nothing else

        whats your price limit?

koni/hr sports are a great spring shock combo.

If you want coilovers, H&R's are great for street use so are the GC track/school kits with light springs.

With that kind of budget you can get your choice of suspensions.

Now THAT is a write-up! Thanks for all the info. One question though, if you need new shocks and want something that is about the same stiffness as stock what do you get?

Koni's, no question. Bilsteins will much stiffer, and with the koni's you can adjust the rebound to match the springs you run.

are there parameters that would prevent some shocks to be used with certain springs? If I got Bilstein shocks, could I use Dinan springs? Not necessarily going for that setup, but curious if there are products that don't work well together.

                    Thanks

You can run any spring with almost any shock.

Bilsteins and eibach springs work well together, while koni's and hr springs are a good match too.
