    repainting valve cover

i'm planning on doing this in the upcoming months, the old paint is flaking off badly

i'm fairly adept at painting simple parts, i've just never tried to remove paint from something as convoluted as the valve cover.

i don't have access to a sandblaster, so i was planning on the paint remover / wire brush / sandpaper route. has anybody tried it this way?

Benfer performance will sell you a powdercoated one. I think they use yours as a core and send you a much better looking one.

    Check it out at http://www.benferperformance.com/main.pl

    Here is a pic.

Not sure if they have it for BMW's later than 95, you will probably have to ask.

i have a carbon fiber valve cover (the plastic part that says BMW M POWER) for sale. i also have a carbon fiber fuel rail cover. both very cheap

the valve cover was a slight reject, and doesnt fit 100% perfect. but with a little modifications, it will work fine.

the fuel rail is in great shape.

both pieces need to be drilled to make way for the bolts
