    New member with a question

Hey everyone. I just became a member of the site, I just wanted to introduce myself. I also have a question. I am in the market of buying an M3. I notice the 1995 model has a 3.0 while the 96-99 have a 3.2. Are there any other differences? Is the engine the same with more displacement or is the engine completely different? I'm sure this has been discussed before and I apologize for that. I tried the Search function but got nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am new here too, being 15 I dont own an M3 yet, but that is what I am looking for. I am pretty sure that there is no difference in both engines, just displacement. Good luck on finding M power! Where are you located? Austin

the 3.0 engine is easier to tune, but so far as peformance there really is no difference, besides a littlle extra torque in the 3.2.

          Great link.

The differences are mostly torque. The S52 has a bit more lowend than the S50. It amounts to nearly a 1/2 second reduction in the zero to 60 time, but a lot of that relies on the tires the car has. Honestly, get the one that fits your price range, as both are wonderful engines.
