    Xbracee from the factory-95 auto?

Whats up guys quick question. Me and a friend of mine are bickering back and forth, he just picked up a 95 2dr cosmos m3 automatic COUPE. He said he just changed the oil and it has a X brace. I say no way man then someone must've put it on. They only came on LTW's and convertibles. He's trying to tell me that its factory and bmw put them on certain cars... specifically autos? Am i wrong and arguing about something i have no clue about?

let me know what everyone thinks

    thanks

I think you are right. They only came on the LTW and convertibles. Actually, they did not come installed on the LTW and came in the trunk so the owner could decide if they wanted it on or not. Forgot the reason why, but that is what I heard.

your friend is wrong. now, there is a brace down there (or at least my car had one), but it is not the x brace.

Well like hellrotm3 was sayin i changed my oil and below the oil pan was a metal square brace that had 2 runners connecting in the shape of an X. ive seen what an oem x-brace looks like and this def is it. I just bought my m3 about 3 weeks ago from an older guy and the car is completely stock. There is no signs of any drilling or anything like that to get it on the car. Im stumped!! :???:

Someone put it on there. Mabye the guy you bought it from was not the original owner?

That just seems odd to me that putting that x-brace on would be the only thing that was done to the car. Like i said this car is bone stock and has no modifications or signs that it was ever. Beats me?!?!

x brace is actually the best first mod, i think. i wouldn't be surprised if that were the only mod.

regardless, i don't think it would take any drilling to get it in there- just have to put in the nutserts and it bolts on like any other M3.
