OK, I pick up my mint 1998 4-door M3, silver, all options except rear wing, tomorrow night. Its got 40,000 miles and led a pampered life from what I can tell. Its 100% stock, so I have 2 big questions:
1. Are there any known, common, serious issues that I should address right up front? What about recalls?
2. I am a DE track guy (Porsche), and am of course itching to take the M3 to the track for some head-to-head comparison. Are there any common upgrades or modifications that I should consider before taking the car to the track? My 911 is street legal but has all the right mods to make it more trackable. I am not looking to creating another track car out of this M3, but if there are simple, inexpensive mods I can make easily to enhance the initial track experience, I'd like to hear about them.
