    Retrofitting Interior

Is it possible to retrofit interiors?

For instance, I really like the white (dove gray) seats, but hate the gray dashboard/black console... So would it be possible to buy a Black interior'd car, and find the white seats (and even maybe door inserts) to put into my interior? Has it been done? TIA...

You can do what ever you have the patience and $ for. I have seen Modena seats in a black interior and they looked pretty nice. But you have to do the front and rear to really make it look nice.

all you need is to buy the M3 with black seats then buy dove seats and sell the black seats.

Yeah, I'd only do it if I found backseats and door panels as well.

Don't Modena interiors come with black dashes originally?

Well... Another option would be buying a colored sport seat so save weight, but I'd lose the little luxury I had, as well as heated seats. Haha. Who knows. Need the car first (but these Q's determine which car I buy).

I think aftermarket shops can do some pretty amazing leather work. It might be worth checking out. You could get the color you like with new, unworn leather. They should be able to replicate the original color and detail I would think.

Modena has black dash...but bright @ss orange inserts on the door panels.

If you have time and a local junkyard with high end cars wouldn't hurt, you can easily do the swap. There are often guys parting out cars on bf.c.

            You'll just have to wait.

Dont' buy colors you hate on the assumption you'll do this. You might find that later you won't want to deal with it.

www.leatherique.com has dye kits you can use to recolor the leather...there's a bunch of threads on this at bimmerforums

I think it's a lot of work, but I saw the results of a guy going from dove grey to black and it looks wonderful in the pictures. They say you can go the other way too, like if you want to go from black to grey or modena etc...
