    Pulleys

Alright, I'm getting my intake/exhaust this weekend and ssk by next week or later, next thing I want to get are the PULLEYs... anyone have opinions on what pulley's they have? or what pulleys to get? I'm thinkin UUC....

You might have to wait a while for the UUC's......a while.....a while....a while.........

I have the UUC pulleys. You might have to wait a little while for them. I'm not sure if you were planning on getting a LTW flywheel eventually, but if you dont plan on getting one, i would say get a crank pulley. From what I hear, the gains from a crank pulley are a lot more than accessory pulleys. I got the UUC pulleys cause i didn't want to underdrive my alternator because of the subs, and because I thought crank pulleys were bad. If you are looking for the most hp, the crank pulley by companies like URI or ERT is what you want. If you are looking for a little gain than the UUC pulleys are fine, and with the UUC pulleys it's ok to add a LTW flywheel because it doens't mess with the harmonic dampner like a crank pulley does. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Totally agree with GrkMf95M3, though i went the other way and have a ERT crank pulley. Its a great upgrade, i dynoed a 11 rwhp gain and equal rwtq gain, compare that to the 5 rwhp gain of accessory pulleys. It really comes down to if you are or are going to run a ltw fly.

all above have had good input for you.

If you dont want to do the crank pulley and you dont want to wait for the backordered uuc pullies there is always the www.rogueengineering.com pulley set as well as the www.unorthodoxracing.com ss accessory set.

So does either option stress the engine more than the other. What are the cost differences. Sounds like the crank pulley is the better way to go to me, more hp with fewer upgrades.

I have been told the safest crank pulley to use is off an e46 m3.

              has anyone done this???

i heard really good feedback on evo sport, great price, and great reliable company with good customer service. i just ordered a set for $240 and regularly it is $279 off their web site.. i wouldnt recomend crank pulley. rogue set only consists of 2 pulleys where is evo sport has 3 for sure and maybe even 4 if i heard correctly.. do some research. also the dyno numbers for evo sport were higher

granted the rogue pullies are only 2 in number but it isnt really neccessary to underdrive the alternator...especially if you are into car audio.

I bet if you took the Rogue pullies to the dyno along with the uuc pullies and the evosport pullies they are all going to give you the same 3-5 rwhp. In fact, the RE website claims 9 rwhp on a 95 m3!!

                            http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RE&Product_Code =PP.E36&Category_Code=P

In the above link it is explained why Rogue uses the 2 pulley system..some food for thought in the explanation.

Im not saying any of the acc. pullies are better than one another but dont discount one just because it is different than the others.

well if you are into car sound which you shouldnt be with the e36 m3 since its purpose wasn't for thumps in the trunk, evo sport also makes a audiopile pulley set that doesnt underdrive the altenator pulley but instead lightens it or something like that
