    Bavarian Autosports Infinity Basslink

Bavauto is selling the 10" subwoofer that plugs directly into our factory amps for $550.. The only reason it costs more than twice as much as the normal Infinity basslink is because it has a "plug n play" adapter.. I've heard that you can make your pretty easily, but i've got no idea how. Does anyone else sell the adapter so I don't have to blow a huge chunk of change on Bavauto's.. Does anyone know how to make one?

please help.. i need bass.... bass.... bass...... :rockband:

I personally wouldn't waste my time with those. Not to degrade them, but for that much money, I bet you can have a 10"-12" Infinity Kappa series woofer and an MTX or Alpine amp. installed for about the same, and you'd get much more, powerful, bass. Before getting this Basslink, i'd certainly check out your local car audio shop (if you have one) and get an estimate of what it would be installed. Also ask what kind of amp. they would suggest, I would go with an Infinity Kappa series 10" or 12". It may be a bit more than $600, but, the sound will be much nicer.

    Good luck. Austin

Austin has the right idea with taking a different route than bavauto.

The only main positive about the basslink is that it only takes up 1 sq. ft. of trunk space and is an easy install.

My current setup is 3 10" JL audio woofers and although I love the sound they take up lots of space and wouldnt help if I needed to put much in the trunk.

If I wanted some nice sounding bass without too much wasted space I would buy JL Audio Stealth Boxes ( i think $250 for the pair) and a 250 x1 or a 300x2 JL audio amp. This setup should be around the same indicated $550 with installation and will give much cleaner and more effective bass.

The JL Stealth Subs are about 450 for the pair, I just bought them. And I just sold them for 300 plus shipping. Why? They're great subs, but they didn't have a big bang like the 15" sub I replaced them with. And so they couldn't keep up once I put that in so bye bye JL subs. Other than that they're great, but your going to need an amp as well. Don't buy the basslink... you won't hear it. If you plan on buying anything get a nice 12" or 15" and put it somewhere in the trunk with an easy way to disconnect and remove. I mounted my amp right on the 15" so I can disconnect when I need to. Goodluck.

I want the bavauto because I auto-x the car and I dont wnat to have to fight with taking out amps and boxes everytime I go..

I went to Custom Sounds and they gave me a quote of around $1800 for 2 JL audio 10's.. box.. custom enclosure.. custom built wall for amp.. blah blah blah..

          $1800 = too much

Well, of coarse its gunna be expensive for all of that custom work, and all you need is one 12" and an amp., are you good with making wood things? A woofer box is not the hard to make, get plywood, and some plexiglass, if you want to make it look cool, you could make it so the amp fits into the sub box. Then just buy some cheap carpet stuff and carpet the outside to make it look finished. I think you could get at least same sound for cheaper than $1800!! How much an hour would they charge you? Or was it not by the hour? Anyway, there are many routes to go. If you want it around 600 I would just build my own box, buy the subs off the internet, from sites like: Crutchfield.com, then just have your audio place do all the wireing stuff. Good luck Later, Austin

You dont need an "amp wall"....i guess if you want it to look extra clean then maybe but if you were thinking about the basslink..then a clean install isnt what you wanted in the first place.

I would say spend no more than $500 on 2 good 10" woofers, and maybe $500-600 more for a really good amp to run them. Thats $1000-$1100. Install might be about $100 for the subs and amp. $1200 for a nice setup isnt so bad really.

Dinan_95_M3 that is pretty much on the money. The speakrs + box + amp were around $1100 but the custom work.. put a hefty tag on the price.

You can make it easy to remove a sub box. In my last car I used a 3 prong (battery/ground/remote) industrial extension cord plug for the power supply. To remove the box, all I had to do was unplug the RCA from the amp attached to the box and unplug the "extension cord". Remove the box and tuck the tail of the extension cord into to spare tire well. 45 seconds, tops. Just get a plug that is rated for your system.

If you still want the Basslink, you can get it for $200 cheaper through Crutchfield.com. You can still get it for the specific car too. The price is 349.00 for the black color, then you can get a 399.00 one, its clear. Anyway, that might be the best way to go, because its much cheaper. Also, Infinity is a really good company. Austin

I've heard a basslink in a M3 before. It actually didn't sound that bad. We had the backseat down too though. I would skip the basslink and just get subs and an amp individually. Your sound will be a lot better and you can get a decent setup for under $1000
