I'm going to be ordering SSK/TMEs very soon and Delrin Carrier Bushings seem to be a fairly popular item to upgrade when doing a SSK. I've read Understeer.com's description of them and I'm still not sure how they'd help. Can anyone give me a reason to upgrade them? Have these things changed anyones driving experience?

Delrin Carrier Bushings?

The shift carrier is an aluminum bracket that attaches to the top of the gearbox in front of the shift lever and to the body of the car behind the shift lever. The pivot point of the lever is inside of the carrier itself. The stock bushing at the front of the carrier, where it connects to the gearbox, is a mushy piece of rubber that just gets mushier over time. The mushier it gets, the more side-to-side "slop" you'll feel in the shift lever. UUC's delrin carrier bushings are a hard thermoplastic that will eliminate that slop and will never break down.

The tension bushing helps with front to rear slop, but has little to no effect on side-to-side play.

I have delrin carrier bushings and have lots of side to side slop but absolutely none front to back.
