Leather Seat wear.. thread coming up

When I bought the M3 about 9 months ago, the seats were in EXCELLENT condition. Now that I've had it for a short time the seats have wear!!! Little krinkles.. and even one of the threads on the bottom left side seat bolster are coming up.

What do you guys recommend I do about this thread that is broken/pulling up? If it continues my seat may open up in the seam..

What can I do about the krinkes?????

what color is your interior?? You should treat your interior with some sort of non sticky leather care product. Blue Coral is what I use... seems to work good.

bimmerforums seems to swear by leatherique.com

Saw some threads on it there, the results were pretty impressive

I used Lexol neatsfoot oil from bavauto.com worked really good on the side bolsters. And then the conditioner for the rest of the car. Make sure you use the cleaner before any treatment is done.

I've been using the BMW Genuine Leather Cleaner. It comes with little sponges and some towelettes to buff it.

but the issue is not cleaning.. its the thread that is coming up.

              and the wrinkles.

if you are looking for an inexpensive quick fix for the thread, take a regular needle and clear nylon thread - it won't show : ) JoAnn has had the thread on sale for the past month. I fixed a 4 inch tear in my bolster, and it looks great (well, compared to what it did look like... I'd still like to replace the interior).

That way you can prevent additional damage, and decide in time whether or not you want to have it professionally repaired, or try to match the thread yourself (good luck on that one : )

I have used just about aeverything on my leather because when I bought it three years ago the modena color was very inconsistent like a bad dye job. I am looking forward to using the leatherique which sounds the most promising, but if you want an excellent leather restorer try Griot's Garage the feel and aroma of the leather beat all others.

I found a very good leather repair shop in AUsitn. They said they would have to take the seat out, and restitch the entire leather cover with their machine.. and it'd cost me 120 bux.

i'll just burn the edge of the thread.. lol
