I haven't the foggiest clue about stereo systems. But I have a problem, so I need help. I have the HK stereo in my car. Recently one of my speakers started buzzing when a CD is playing. When the radio is on I haven't noticed it. It is coming from the lower of the two door mounted speakers. It gets louder when there is alot of bass going through the speakers, does anyone know what this is? Also, if this has to be replaced, would it be under warranty? Thanks guys

If you are still covered under CPO, then take it in. If it is only with the CD changer, then there could be a problem with one of the components, and not the speaker. That should be covered under CPO.
However, if you blew the speaker then you will probably have to pay out of pocket.
Since it does not happen with the radio on, then it sounds like a different problem and you should take it in. Unless you want to upgrade your stereo.

I am thinking it is also. I don't play my music overly loud though, how could it have blown? Does anyone know how much a replacement speaker is? Do you guys think I should stay with the HK, or should I get Phoenix Gold Titanium series? My buddy is telling me to upgrade my stuff anyway, what do you guys think?

Same thing happened to me twice. Both my HK midrange speakers blew out and I was not overdriving them. They are cheap, worthless, pieces of crap if you want my opinion. The first was replaced under the original warranty, but the dealer wanted $185 just for the speaker for the other one because the CPO doesn't cover the speakers. So I ended up replacing my entire system. You are not going to find a direct replacement for the HK midrange because it is an odd size so I just disconnected them, installed a component system up front and 6x9s in the rear. I am much happier with my new system.

I have a theory.
Open up and take a look. I have a Miata with the MSSS 10 speaker system. There are plastic coned Panasonic speakers in the doors. I had bass rattling and it actually was just some glue coming undo on the speaker unit. Not a blown speaker at all. Just glue failure.
A little Shoe-Goo (I use that for everything) and it sealed back up and the rattle went bye-bye.
