Does anyone have any ideas of a sporty/classy car?

Hey all, I hope no body cares that I am posting something that doesn't really pertain to M3's. Well it actually kind of does. My mom is looking for a new car, that is a moderate gas saver that is fun/sporty, yet classy. She doesn't know much about cars, and cars are my life, so I have been giving ideas. I would be driving it some of the time, until I find my "perfect" M3 . She REALLY wants a Mini Cooper but doesn't want to spend the 20k a base model would cost, as she just bought an '04 loaded Durango. So, my question for you guys is, what is a good/fun/classy, car like the new Mini? She is not really picky, she even likes base golfs(I wont let her get something like that, mind you.... :argue: ) ha! But she has thought about an M3, but if that was "my" car, I would not want her driving it, haha! Sooo, I want to leave that car to me. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appriciated!

    Thanks a lot guys! Austin

I know of a couple real sweet pre owned Audi S4's, or a nice G35 , but may be alittle pricey. It seems ther are tons of late model 323's and 325's around too.

Thanks, I will keep those in mind! Yes, the G35 is little expensive for what she wants to pay, but an S4 or a 323,325 might be a good idea.

      Thanks, Austin

        2001 S4 ~ $21gs.

She could look at 1999-2000 323ci's... Maybe the new Mercedes C320 coupe. What are her requirements? Does she need a backseat? A 2001 Z3 3.0 is nice, so is 2001 S2000. Those are all low-mid 20's (except C320). Hmm..

Those are all good suggestions, and yes, she would like some what of a back seat. Thanks for your feedback! Keep it coming!!

I've got a 73 MB 450sl. I feel a style that will always be stylish. It is a roadster, but has a large trunk and much room behind the seat. Hard top and soft. You can get one in good condition for around $10k. I know mine turns heads wherever I go.

Keep in mind that the 323 actually has the 2.5 liter engine it, so it is not a weak as some people think. I think that would be an excellent low dollar car. You could probably find one with a CPO warranty. That would be nice.

If you go the Audi route, be sure it has a warranty or you are going to be miserable. Too many people I know have had problems with them.
