This very subjective question is popping up a lot lately -- I'll have Hella pics to post in a couple of days. I'm told guys at the shop were drooling over them out of the box. (Car is in for some work).

And IMHO with the ellips and quality bulbs, I don't think you need the cost and illegality (does it vary by state?) of the HID lows.

The original HELLA that were on E36s in the UK were superior quality to ZKWs.

The recent ones use cheaper plastic, cheaper internals, etc. Now, if you want the bug eye look, the Hella are for you. They have high quality projectors, so you can't lose on light output. But they be ugly

Evidence? No one takes other people's word for it?

do you have to remove the angel eyes from the low beam bulbs if i upgrade to xenon lights later on? i would hate to remove a set of angel eyes on an already installed zkw if i get hids later on.

papa matt is the all knowning headlight guru!

if he says so, then that is enough evidence for me.

you do not need to remove anything.

All the systems are completely orthogonal.

That means, they have no adjacency Thanks uber

Hella do put out more light, but the look of it just ruins it all. I might sacrifice some light for the look. Trust me, if you go from stock to zkw, you will notice a big difference with HID's. Another Plus is the price.
