You're right MPOWER95, he has some stuff done to it too, and like I said, I was in the car as well, and was burning out quite a bit. 14.5 isn't too bad for that, and being a convert. Is yours a coup?

Oh how I love reading pissing wars. Stock 5.0's run low 14's with a good driver. However, throwing 500 to 1000 bucks worth of bolt-ons into it will push that number way down into the 13's. Mods are SOO cheap for them. Heck just throwing new gears, 3.73's or 4.10's into it will drop in into the 13's. Stock comes with 2.73's, or 3.08's if you're lucky. I have an 88 5.0 that will definitely take my 98 M3, and I really haven't begun to mod that motor yet. I have converted it to 4 wheel disk, panhard bar, caster/camber plates, solid steering shaft, poly bushings all around, tokico 5-ways, bullitt springs, nittos, sub-frame connectors, etc, etc. AND with all of these suspension mods, it's not near the M3 as far as handling/performance. BTW, the WRX's are pretty fast off the line, with the AWD. Plus, they too have TONS of performance mods that are relatively cheap. But I always gain on them quickly. Just throwing in my two cents. If your uncle doesn't want to loose, he isn't going to have to put too much money into to it to make sure he doesn't.

That is one downside to the M3, mods aren't cheap and most don't have a dramatic effect on power.
