If you are on a budget, don't forget the understeer short shifter. It is not quite as nice as the EVO, but will save you a couple hundred $'s.

Get the Evo3, just installed mine last week. It is SO SWEET! Oh and get tranny mounts while you are under there...also very nice!

this is my first time going to put a short shifter in a bmw .. (put one in a 911)... are the tranny mounts hard to put in.?

THe kit isnt on backorder, and is everybit as good as the UUC kit..not to mention it comes with the weighted selctor rod and now the new SAPP.



I love mine andso does everyone else with one..just some food for thought.

The shots on my site are with out the short shifter, I took a bunch of pics during the install, will upload them to my site tonight you need to drop the tranny a 1/4" to get to the clip on the carrier, so you can just swap out the mounts then. the install is easy if you know what your doing (sounds like you do)and follow the instructions you should be fine. But be sure to get the tranny mounts w/enforcers, really makes a differance!

I just called my local guy about the tranny mounts, never heard anything about them. Basically told me that in hard cornering and track running the tranny actually moves and people have missed a gear and a couple people caused big time damage. 120 installed he quoted me, so I think Ill get them then since im getting the SSK installed too. Sounds like it goes hand in hand with the new SSK.

You can really tell with the tranny mounts, I have pics of the mount install and will have them up tonight. Yah it really goes hand and hand with the SSK since your tearing it apart anyway.
